What are Mini Nomadic Excursions?

​​Economic woes hit everyone hard, even organizations hoping to complete good work. At Fresh Globes Inc., we changed our annual trip to ensure even more teens have access to inspiring opportunities. In 2024, in place of one annual trip, we hosted a series of mini cultural immersion adventures. These adventures spanned 3-5 days, to include cultural, language, and enrichment opportunities. The total cost, which includes airfare, accommodations, ground transportation, and food, ranged from $300 - $500.

How We Keep the Cost Low

Unlike traditional travel, which is planned around convenient dates, these mini nomadic excursions are based on the cheapest flight dates in each respective month. We aim for nice hotels that include breakfast, or housesharing which allows us to make breakfast ourselves.

Instead of expensive private ground transportation, we use public transportation in each respective area. This also allows us to engage with the local population and see more of the city. Finally, most airline tickets will only cover a backpack as the personal item.

Special attention is given to the daily itinerary, grouping historic or cultural sites based on distance- more walking than riding. If possible, we seek group discounts at must-see attractions.

Of course, travelers can opt to pay additional money for checked bags, more luggage, or for purchasable amenities/souvenirs on the plane, hotel, or throughout the travel. However, each itinerary is uniquely designed to ensure a wonderful time without having to spend money.

All flights will leave and return to the Washington, DC area.
